Bestway Foundation Joins Hands With Virgin Atlanic To Deliver Essential Aid To The Victims Of Pakistan Floods

The country’s leading commercial airliner joins hands with UK’s largest community pharmacy to deliver medicines worth £330,000 to the victims of humanitarian crisis

At an event organised in London and attended by the Pakistani High Commissioner His Excellency Mozam Ahmed Khan. The Bestway Group CFO The Honourable Haider Choudrey on behalf of Well Pharmacy a subsidiary of the Bestway Group presented the donation to the High Commissioner and highlighted that this was the beginning of the implementation of Bestway Foundations’ Flood Relief Strategy that was announced in September 2022. 

Mr Choudrey also announced that Virgin Atlantic had very kindly agreed to partner with Bestway Foundation and offered to transport the medication to Islamabad free of charge, a donation in kind worth £300,000. 

Virgin Atlantic’s essential assistance will facilitate the delivery of much needed aid to the most vulnerable with the onset of the winter season in Pakistan. The Airline had dedicated special climate control vehicles for the collection and delivery of these medicines to the cargo handling facility at Heathrow London.

The High Commissioner thanked Bestway Group and, in particular, highlighted Sir Anwar Pervez and Lord Zameer Choudrey as beacons of hope for the people of Pakistan in their hour of need. He praised the Group’s efforts in galvanising the Pakistani diaspora in the UK for this worthy cause through their flagship fundraiser dinner held in London in September. 

Bestway Foundation continues in its drive to raise funds for the victims of the Pakistan floods and has established dedicated bank accounts and online platform through which individuals and corporates can assist the victims of the recent floods anyone interested in donating can contact Bestway Group Offices in UK or Pakistan. 

The Honourable Haider Choudrey CFO Bestway Group & Trustee Bestway Foundation used the opportunity to provide an update on Bestway’s ongoing activities. Under the umbrella of the Bestway Foundation Hum Sahara Programme over next fortnight 8,241 Ration Bags comprising of dry food items; blankets; mosquito nets and water filtration units have been distributed in the worst affected areas of southern Pakistan provinces of Baluchistan and Sindh.
