I am truly humbled by the success we have achieved as a team and Bestway’s success today reflects the hard work of all our colleagues.

Whilst, I may have stepped by back from my day-to-day corporate responsibilities, however, I will still be around to assist and advise colleagues as and when required.

Lastly, may I take this opportunity to thank you for your continued service to Bestway Group. I hope you will provide the same robust support to our new leadership team as you have provided to me over the many decades.

At the heart of our family and corporate philosophy is the desire to support and empower the communities we operate in. I am heartened that in addition to operational success we have also been able to give back to those less fortunate through our operating businesses as well as our charitable trust, Bestway Foundation.

Our journey so far would not have been possible without the support of the wider Bestway family – our Board, dedicated staff, customers and partners and I thank them all for their continued support and commitment.

Lastly, I would like to pay tribute to my predecessor and the founder of our business, Sir Anwar Pervez who gave us the platform, which allows us to foster and to encourage the development of our relationships with all our stakeholders.

I am confident that our management and staff are the right people to lead Bestway and to determine our strategic direction. I am grateful to my fellow Board members for their encouragement, guidance, and support.

We have a truly magnificent platform. We are the UK’s largest independent wholesaler, largest independent retail pharmacy chain and fourth largest pharmacy wholesaler. However, the success we have achieved is not confined to the UK, and we take great satisfaction in being the largest overseas investor in Pakistan. We hold strategic stakes in the country’s largest cement manufacturer, 2nd largest listed commercial bank, and 4th largest general insurer.

I have witnessed first-hand the hard work and dedication that Sir Anwar and Lord Choudrey put into all of our business units, alongside the rest of the board. Bestway Group has embodied their core values of honesty, hard work and sincerity and I am thankful to our employees for their commitment to the business and our stakeholder groups.

Bestway Group is forward looking and are continuously looking to build on the magnificent platform we have both within our existing business units as well across potentially new ones. As we embark on the next chapter in the Bestway story, I feel confident that together we can take Bestway Group to new heights of success.
