The Bestway group has won the much-coveted Queen’s Award for Enterprise: International Trade for its exports to countries around the world.

The presentation of the award is to be made to Bestway's director responsible for exports, Dawood Pervez at a ceremony to be announced later.

Mr Pervez said on receiving the news, "Naturally we are delighted with this great accolade. We are proud of our long relationships with customers in the domestic market and this award recognises our work with offering the same support to all our existing and increasing number of new potential customers around the world. We have achieved an overseas earnings growth of 86% over the last three years. We are delighted to have become one of the top performers in food exports from Britain. It's what the country should be doing more of."

The company is now serving customers from around the globe who buy from a range of over 35,000 SKUs. Bestway Export has a dedicated team of experts who provide comprehensive client services that include negotiating the best prices, web ordering, arranging the transportation of goods, and meeting any relabeling requirements for local legislation needs. Products are being shipped to over 50 countries. The range of products includes core groceries, soft drinks, confectionery, snacks, toiletries, household products, pet foods and catering packs.

Umar Sheikh, Bestway's central export buyer said, "An ever increasing amount of suppliers are seeing the benefits of working with Bestway ... our database of information for each export destination (including the reach of our local distribution partners) is proving to be very attractive to suppliers seeking an easy first step for foreign expansion."

The company's 'Best-in' own label range of core British value products is in popular demand as is White Pearl, the company's leading ethnic foods specialist brand which is the largest importer of Pakistani Basmati rice into the UK and also exports around the globe with its spices, canned goods and its variety of both economic and premium rice.

Mr Pervez added, "It's good to know that the UK's leading brands are popular items on the world's shopping lists everywhere from Afghanistan to Zanzibar, we look forward to continue growing this division of the business still further."
