Bestway on the world's stage - Exports increase 23%

Bestway, the largest independent food grocery wholesaler in the UK, has been building up a high profile across the world through its increasingly successful exports of foodstuffs from Britain, the value of which in the past year has increased by 23%.

The range of products includes core groceries, soft drinks, confectionery, snacks, toiletries, household products, pet foods and catering packs.

Dawood Pervez, Bestway director and head of group exports said, "We are proud of our long relationships with customers in the domestic market and are now working just as hard to offer the same support to all our existing and increasing number of new potential export customers. Our past year's earnings have risen dramatically. We are delighted to have become one of the top performers in food exports from Britain. It's what the country should be doing more of."

'UK Plc' is now boasting record exports of food around the world and Bestway is proud to be playing its part in that. British exports as a whole, is in its seventh consecutive year of growth, and amounts to £5.8 billion.

Bestway has recently exhibited at the largest food and drink fair in the world - ANUGA, held in Germany and has returned with record sales and interest from a range of international buyers. Umar Sheikh, Bestway central export buyer added, "The company is now serving customers from around the globe who buy from a range of over 26,000 SKU's. No matter whether it is Marmite to Malaysia or bottled water to China, we are supplying it. Products are being shipped to over 49 countries and we are happy to be able to boast a large portfolio of both SKU's and added services which our customers appreciate".

The company's 'Best-in' own label range of core British products is in popular demand as is White Pearl, the company's leading ethnic foods specialist which is the largest importer of Pakistani Basmati rice into the UK and also exports around the globe with its spices, canned goods and its variety of both economic and premium rice.

Sheikh concludes, "It's good to know that the UK's leading brands are popular items on the world's shopping lists everywhere from Afghanistan to Zanzibar, we look forward to continue growing this division of the business in the coming months."
