Bestway Foundation supports Pakistan Recovery Fund

Bestway Foundation recently helped and supported the Pakistan Recovery Fund in their mission to help the flood victims of Pakistan.

Bestway Foundation was established in 1987 by Sir Anwar Pervez, OBE H Pk. Every year the Group contribute 2.5% of its annual profits for charitable causes in education and health through Bestway Foundation in UK and Pakistan. Since 1987, the Group has donated over £10 million to Bestway Foundation.

Bestway Group is the seventh largest family business in UK with annual turnover of £2.3 billion. Established in 1976, Bestway Group has come a long way and has evolved into a dynamic, diversified and global business. Today, it is the 2nd largest wholesaler in the UK, the 2nd largest cement producer in Pakistan and the 2nd largest private bank in Pakistan. The Group provides employment to over 22,500 globally.

Over the years, the Foundation has funded schools and scholarships in UK and Pakistan, contributed to Age Concern, Duke of Edinburgh's Award scheme, Crimestoppers, The Prince's Trust and Great Ormond Street Hospital amongst many others.

The Pakistan Recovery Fund has been initiated by His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales to raise significant investment in homes, health, education and livelihoods of the victims of the 2010 floods in Pakistan.

His Royal Highness wishes to personally respond to an unprecedented humanitarian disaster by providing a credible and transparent conduit for aid.

In order to raise awareness about the work to be undertaken and to raise funds, a gala dinner was organised on 8th December.
