Well Pharmacy rolls out Click & Collect for online patients

Well Pharmacy, the UK’s largest independent pharmacy chain, has successfully rolled out a new Click and Collect service that allows patients who order prescriptions from their online pharmacy to choose whether to have their medicine delivered for free or collect from their local Well Pharmacy.

Well’s online patients can now choose to collect their medicine from over 570 Well pharmacies across England.

Speaking about the roll out of the Click and Collect service, Claire O’Connell, Director of IT & Digital said: “We were trialling the Click and Collect service across 90 community pharmacy sites for a number of months, making sure the experience for our patients and pharmacy teams was smooth and simple.

“We saw brilliant uptake through our trial pharmacies, especially for acute prescriptions. Just last month we saw a patient opt for Click and Collect, which was ready within 45-minutes ensuring that there were no delays and treatment could be commenced immediately. It is fantastic to be offering our online patients’ choice and flexibility to best suit their lifestyle and we are confident even more of our online patients will benefit from this new collection service.”

Seb Hobbs, CEO of Well Pharmacy, said: “At Well Pharmacy we are focussed on building the best community pharmacy experience in the UK and we believe to do that we need to offer a seamless experience for our patients both online and through our community pharmacies.

“Successfully rolling out Click and Collect across all our pharmacies in England is a major milestone and a key step towards achieving our mission. We are passionate about giving our customers choice and offering true convenience.”

Over the last 12 months, Well’s online pharmacy has increased nominations by more than 60% in response to coronavirus, and currently works with over 4,600 GP surgeries across England to support over 100,000 NHS patients.
