Getting fit for the road!

We were delighted to stop by the Kwik-Fit garage in Stretford, Manchester recently on our Mobile Health Clinic bus for some pressure checks of a different kind as we invited Kwik-Fit staff to swap the tire pressure gauge for the blood pressure cuff.

Our collaboration with Kwik Fit backs the NHS ‘Get Your Blood Pressure Checked’ campaign, as research has revealed around four million people in England may unknowingly live with high blood pressure – which has been dubbed a silent killer.

“Just as you wouldn’t drive with flat or over inflated tyres, you shouldn’t ignore your blood pressure,” said Kwik Fit’s spokesman Roger Griggs.

“Unlike an underinflated tyre, high blood pressure often has no symptoms, so we are encouraging our customers and staff who are over 40 and eligible to get their blood pressure checked for free in their local participating pharmacy.”
