Brighton Men Win Britvic Van as Bestway Drives Prize Draw Interest

David Carden and son Brian of Crestway News Ltd in Hollingdean, Brighton, have won a new Peugeot Bipper van worth £10,000 in a free prize draw run by Britvic and Bestway.

The lucky independent retailers picked up the keys from Bestway’s Brighton depot before driving their new runaround into the South Coast sunset – and with 170 bottles of Britvic’s core range to boot.  The father and son team are now the envy of those who caught a glimpse of the prize on its road-trip around 14 Bestway and Batleys depots nationwide in recent months.

David Carden said: “It's amazing to win a new Bipper van for a brand New Year – just for buying the Britvic products we always do!  I can't wait to get behind the wheel but I’ll be back at the Bestway depot with Brian soon to stock up."

The Cardens were among thousands of independent retailers to be in contention for the prize having filled their boots with Britvic products last year.  Each case purchased at a Bestway or Batleys depot between 27 April and 11 October 2012 triggered an automatic entry.  The cash and carry competition was part of Bestway and Britvic Soft Drinks’ ‘BIG SUMMER 2012’ promotion.

Nigel Paine, Commercial Director for Impulse, Britvic, said: "We’re delighted that the Cardens are pleased with their new van; we know it’s a great prize for any busy retailer.  We created the competition to generate further awareness on our core range including Robinsons Fruit Shoot, Juicy Drench spring water, Mountain Dew Energy, Lipton Ice Tea, Pepsi, 7UP and Tango.  Bestway's backing has been just as refreshing and together we wanted to give one lucky winner – or two as it’s turned out – the perfect gift for the New Year.”

David Gilroy, Bestway Operations Director, added: "At Bestway we've always focused on driving business for the independents.  We hope David and Brian enjoy their new set of wheels and a prosperous 2013."
