Bestway announces £10 million investment plan for its Bestpets

Bestway Wholesale Group has announced a business expansion of its Batleys Bestpets group of specialist wholesale outlets, exclusively for the pet trade.

A £10 million investment plan to grow the business across the UK will benefit the whole pet trade industry.

Martin Race, the operations director of Batleys and Bestpets said, " Since the inception of the Bestpets addition to the company in 2005, we have seen considerable growth and  a complete belief and following in what we do from the UK pet trade and I am delighted to announce  that we intend to continue a £10 million investment, over the next three years, in the trade across our group with the addition of major hubs across the country from which to  service our many trade customers. This year, already, we have opened new hubs in Newcastle and Nottingham and have doubled the size of hubs at Exeter and Luton. We are about to develop a new site in Glasgow and we are currently looking at options  for more space in  Bristol.

Mr Race added, " We are only too aware of how difficult business is for our customers and we want to be seen to be helping our pet trade customers to build their businesses through offering them top service as well as value and the very best prices available. The Bestpets website now accounts for 30 per cent of all delivered orders to trade customers and this is all set to continue to grow."

The investment plan will roll out right across the group to include a considerable enhancement of the highly successful Pet Retail Club for the trade to join and see big extra promotional offers from their membership. Other elements of the new plans will also see increasing numbers of sales development managers and depot staff along with additional delivery vehicles  joining the existing fleet to ensure smoother and regular deliveries.
