Corporate Philanthropy Awards 2012 for Bestway Cement Limited
Bestway Cement has been honoured by being awarded a Certificate of Recognition by the Pakistan Centre for Philanthropy (PCP) in appreciation of its continued work for charity and good causes.
The Award which acknowledges Bestway Cement as the 10th largest contributor out of 478 public limited companies in Pakistan, further underlines the Bestway Group's commitment to worthy causes and was awarded by chief guest, Mr. Ishaq Dar, Pakistan's Finance Minister at the PCP's Award ceremony in Karachi.
Zameer Choudrey CEO of the Bestway Group was delighted with the Award saying "This represents great recognition for our philanthropy and I would like to congratulate all at Bestway Cement on this achievement. Corporate and Social Responsibility is a fundamental part of the global Bestway business; it underpins how we do business and it defines who we are as a company. Our CSR policy is ingrained in the culture of the business and is designed to evolve over time – it has to be organic and adaptable as businesses change but the key principles or pillars have to remain solid."
Bestway Cement was rewarded for its contribution to social sector development and poverty alleviation in the country. The award distribution ceremony was organized by Pakistan Centre for Philanthropy (PCP) and sponsored by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and was held at the Governor House, Karachi. This year's annual event was attended by leading businessmen, senior government officials, civil society representatives, donors and media.
