Bringing own label to the fore
The quality of Bestway Wholesale’s own label offer was recognised at the Wholesale Quality Food Awards on Sept 29th with both our retail and catering ranges scooping gongs.
First up was Essentially Catering Leg of Lamb which was awarded the best catering meat product award; Essentially Catering’s reduced salt and sugar baked beans followed up with a win in the ambient catering category while Best-in’s Rich Tomato Ketchup received the top prize in the Local Shop Sauces category. Our licensed range also got in on the act with Royal Prosecco being awarded Best Sparkling wine.
Managing Director Martin Race was delighted with the win, “The gap between own-label and branded products is diminishing every year and to win awards for the quality of our products in both catering and retail sectors shows that we are treading the right path with our own-label business. This is just the start and over the next year there will be many more developments and innovations as we continue to make our own-label offer a vital part of the sales mix for both retail and catering customers.”
