BESTPETS SHOWS ADDED GROWTH WITH NEW DEPOT FOR LUTON

The
new depot is 15,000 sq ft and will serve a catchment area of a 20-mile
radius of Luton. It will stock over 5,000 products across all the pet
care categories. The own brand Bestpets range, with over 50 lines
including dog food, dog chews, bedding, and cat and dog accessories and
bird seed is a key part of the product offering and delivers a welcome
POR of up to 50%.

Martin Race, the operations director of Batleys
said, " The success that we have seen with the development of Bestpets
as a brand in its own right is endorsed by the fact that this will be
our 10^th store opening in just over three years. We have
deliberately gone out to service the pet care trade with a specialised
service and they like what we are providing which has encouraged us to
continue to grow the business. We are staging supplier product
demonstrations on the opening day and a series of opening promotions
and then we will maintain a range of top offers with regular promotions
over three weekly cycles."

The new Luton depot will provide both
a cash and carry service and a delivered service. Items ordered by
telephone or via the online facility by 2 pm, will be delivered to the
customer`s premises on the agreed delivery day. This reduces the amount
of stock that customers have to hold and additionally helps them
maintain better margins.

Bestpets has also introduced its own CD
ROM service by providing customers with the full and up to date list of
all products stocked to make ordering that much easier.
